• MDR Choir wins "Echo Klassik" for Rachmaninow Vesper Recording
  The MDR Choir Leipzig and their conductor Howard Arman won the "Echo Klassik" award. 
  This award is the highest honour (recorded music) for artists in Germany.

  Stroke of luck music: The two principal conductors of the Central German broadcast take in the long term the artistic responsibility for the further shaping of orchestra and choir of the three-land broadcasting station. Both artists documented your solidarity to the MDR and to the region with the choice of the music city Leipzig as main domicile. 

  The Italian Fabio Luisi extended his contract until 2009. Professor Howard Arman, since 1998 director of the MDR Choir signed his contract until 2013.
